Resources for College Students
DecideBetter! has put together a number of resources assist college students to make better decisions, including academic and social decisions. Resources are also provided for students prior to going to college, including for high school students applying and those who are about to start their college career.
1. Resources for High School Students Preparing for College and Parents
So You Got Into School, Now What?
Are you a senior in high school who is in the process of hearing about admissions from all of the schools you applied to? What will you do once you find out? You need to make a decision about which of the schools you've been admitted to which one you're going to go to. How will you make this decision? Will you do it based on how close the school is to home, to friends or to your boyfriend or girlfriend? Will you decide based upon how the campuses look? Will you decide based upon a professor who you met who you really admire?
The best approach to deciding what school to select is a structured approach that takes into account all of the factors that are important to you. DecideBetter! has created just such a resource for you to use in this process. Included in these resources are:
- a downloadable worksheet in Excel format that you can use to balance your criteria and come up with a clear understanding of which school you should decide to attend; and,
- an article describing how to weigh the various factors in making your decision and how to use the downloadable worksheet.
